Asini, Tiryns, Mycenae, Epidauros & Corinth

We have seen a lot of old stuff in the last few days!
Right next to the highly recommended Kastraki campsite (37.528314 22.875908) is the archaeological site of Ancient Asini. It is thought that the walls of the citadel were constructed in 300 BCE by the king of Macedonia, Demetrius the Besieger.
That is me standing at the base of the walls of Tiryns to give you some scale! The site has been occupied since the Bronze Age. It reached its height between 1400 and 1200 BCE, when it was one of the most important centers of the Mycenaean world. The scale of the walls gave the city its Homeric epithet of "mighty walled Tiryns". Hercules was resident here during his labors - allegedly.
Mycenae was one of the major centres of Greek civilization in the second millennium BCE and dominated much of southern Greece. (The period of Greek history from about 1600 BCE to about 1100 BCE is called Mycenaean in reference to Mycenae.) At its peak in 1350 BCE, the citadel and lower town had a population of about 30,000.
The theatre at Epidauros was built in the 4th century BCE and seats about 12,000. It is has excellent acoustics and is still in use as a theater.
The Temple of Apollo at Corinth was constructed around 550 BCE.
